Notify a Service Process - 4 new

I have a webpage which creates reports, a report can take few seconds or
several minutes to create. This webpage calls a web service which in turn does
a remoting call to a windows service and the service creates the report. My
question is if a user cancels or closes the browser before the report is - Sat,

Are frames "out" these days and going forward? - 2 new

I don't see anything wrong in using frames. Especially if they are already

IE does not reload css or js file... - 4 new
--------------------------------------------
This is just down to caching. If your JS and CSS files are not dynamic, then
when on your site, it shouldn't be an issue... However, when you run the
project from VS, if the files are not there, then simply press and hold your
CTRL key whilst you press the refresh button (or press CTRL-F5 whilst browser
is focussed). - Sun, May 4 2008 1:54 am

circular reference in cross page post back - 2 new
--------------------------------------------------
Are you doing cross-page postback to the same page if you'd get circular
reference? Only way the cast succeeds is that the previous page really
implements the interface. - Sun, May 4 2008 2:15 am

Create new website on File System or local IIS - 1 new
------------------------------------------------------
There are scenarios where you have to use IIS. An example is when your code is
referring to a virtual directory. I don't know how to declare a virtual
directory on the file system server. An advantage of not using IIS is that you
don't have to configure it which can be sometimes painful. On other hand,
sooner or later you will have to - Sun, May 4 2008 2:23 am

Should this code force a refresh of my asp.net page? - 1 new
------------------------------------------------------------
...The reason I wanted to force a refresh was that I noticed my gridview was
only showing up when the page was refreshed. It wasn't enough to set its
parameters and then do a 'databind' - the gridview would only appear on a
postback. I really don't understand why this is the case, and even when I
stepped through with the debugger everything seemed in - Sun, May 4 2008 4:26

Access UserControl - 1 new
--------------------------
while there are some hacks, the proper way is to define an interface (in an
appcode class file), have the user control implement the interface, then cast
the control to the interface when you need to access the interface properties.
